Maskcara Review – Scam or Legit Beauty? Compensation Plan Simplified

Welcome to my Maskcara Beauty Review.

One of the things that we are going to answer for you today is if the Maskcara opportunity is a scam or not.

We wouldn’t want to join any opportunity that ends up closing down in a few short months after we join it due to bad business decisions or non-compliance issues.

Maskcara Beauty Review

One of the easiest things for you to do that will save you a ton of frustration before joining any business opportunity is to take some time to learn about the facts first before joining.

We are going to take the time to research and review the information about the company, the products, and the compensation plan to see how the company really works.

With that said, let’s dig in and get started with the review.

Maskcara Review – What Is It?

Maskcara Reviews What Is It

Maskcara is an MLM company that offers personal care products in the form of mainly facial makeup.

The company offers makeup but also the opportunity to make additional money from home with the MLM structured business model that it offers.

The niche that I would consider this company to be in is the cosmetic or beauty niche.

Company Overview

The way that Maskcara started is an interesting story.

Maskcara Owner Founder CEO Cara

The company was founded and started by Cara Brook back in 2013.

The name “Maskcara” seems to be a play on words with one of the popular makeup names and the owner’s name is “Cara”.

Maskcara looks like it has 3 different websites which are:

  • maskcara.com – (the main company website)
  • maskcarabeauty.com – (the website that focuses on the makeup and offers how-to tutorials and how to locate a rep)
  • maskcarahq.com – (the website that focuses on the income opportunity side of the company and details on the compensation plan)

Cara started out being a blogger that was selling beauty products that were branded under the Maskcara name before the actual MLM business started.

Before the blog, she had a successful Youtube channel as well that seems to be down or got shut-down for some reason.

Cara still runs an Instagram and Facebook page that seems to be updated regularly.

What I’ve noticed about the website is that the owner really is branding herself as the image for her company which is great in my opinion.

Additionally, I have taken notice that the website mainly focuses on women and offers a ton of helpful information articles on the subject of beauty and beauty maintenance which is awesome in my opinion.

That is all the information that we have on the company, let’s continue.

How Does The Maskcara Compensation Plan Work?

Maskcara Beauty Compensation Plan Breakdown

In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at how the compensation plan works and how you can make money with the Maskcara opportunity.

There are a few aspects that are involved with the Maskcara compensation plan that includes:

  • Retails Sales
  • Referral Commissions
  • Residual Commissions
  • Generational Bonus Commissions
  • and Performance Bonuses

Getting Started

The first thing that you must do is join as an affiliate member by purchasing at least the basic makeup kit that the company offers.

After that, you will want to keep an eye on how to increase your rank in the company.

Increasing your rank will offer more money that you will be able to make with your total team and retail sales.

Ranks and Qualifications

There are a total of 10 ranks that you can qualify for that the company offers.

Each rank will provide more money than you can earn along with special bonuses that the compensation plan offers.

To reach each of the ranks will require certain qualifications that you will need to reach and maintain.

Here is a breakdown of each rank and what you will need to do in order to qualify for them:

  • Hac.er Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to simply sign up as a Maskcara affiliate.
  • Elite Hac.er Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to generate at least 240 PV and 640 total PV per month.
  • Top Hac.er Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 240 PV and 800 GV per month and have at least 2 active legs.
  • Ambassador Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 480 PV and 2000 GV per month and maintain at least 3 active legs (with one Top Hac.er on one of those legs)
  • Elite Ambassador Rank Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 480 PV and 4000 GV per month and maintain at least 4 active legs (1 Top Hac.er and 1 Ambassador needed)
  • Top Ambassador Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 480 PV and 8000 GV per month and maintain at least 5 active legs (1  Ambassador and 1 Elite Ambassador needed)
  • Influencer Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 720 PV and 20,000 GV per month and maintain at least 5 active legs (1 Elite Ambassador and 1 Top Ambassador needed)
  • Elite Influencer Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 720 PV and 40,000 GV per month and maintain at least 6 active legs (2 Top Ambassadors and 1 Influencer)
  • Top Influencer Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 720 PV and 80,000 GV per month and maintain at least 7 active legs (3 Top Ambassadors, 1 Influencer and 1 Elite Influencer needed)
  • Executive Director Rank – To qualify for this rank, you will need to maintain and generate at least 720 PV and 160,000 GV per month and maintain at least 7 active legs (3 Top Ambassadors, 1 Influencer and 1 Top Influencer needed)

Just for reference, I’ve included an explanation of what some of the terms mean that were used above:

  • PV means Personal Volume which is the sales volume earned by both retail sales and the affiliate member’s personal orders.
  • GV means the Group Volume which is the total PV created by you and your total team downline.
  • Active Leg is referring to the unilevel compensation plan structure where 1 active Elite Hac.er or higher ranked affiliate member is positioned on one of your legs.

Also, there is a limit on how much GV can be produced from any 1 of your legs that will count toward any of the rank GV requirements.

This limit is set at 40% for the total amount needed to qualify for any rank.

How Does The Unilevel Compensation Plan Structure Work?

Just to go a little deeper into how much of the qualifications work, I wanted to quickly explain how the MLM unilevel structure works.

Here is a quick breakdown:

  • 1st level – The first level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have your personally recruited members on it.
  • 2nd Level – The second level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have team members that your level 1 members personally recruited on it.
  • 3rd Level – The third level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have team members that your level 2 members personally recruited on it.
  • and so on…

Each of your personally recruited members counts as 1 leg.

Hopefully, this explanation helps those that were unfamiliar with how the unilevel pay structure works.

Retail Commissions

The retail commissions that you can earn in Maskcara are from customer purchases.

The number of commissions that you can earn per retail sale will depend on how much PV that you accumulate per week.

The percentage for all affiliate members will start out at a 20% commission rate per retail sale and go up to 40%.

Here is how you can earn more:

  • When you earn 1 to 319 PV in 1 week you will qualify to earn a 20% retail commission rate which is the standard base rate for everyone starting out.
  • When you earn 320 to 639 PV in 1 week you will qualify to earn a 25% retail commission rate for that week.
  • When you earn 640 to 1599 PV in 1 week you will qualify to earn a 30% retail commission rate for that week.
  • When you earn 1600 to 3199 PV in 1 week you will qualify to earn a 35% retail commission rate for that week.
  • When you earn 3200 or more PV in 1 week you will qualify to earn a 40% retail commission rate for that week.

Each following pay period week, the volume starts over and you will need to qualify again for a higher percentage rate.

Residual Commissions (unilevel)

Maskcara Residual Commissions Chart

Maskcara also offers residual commissions.

Residual commissions are earned for the monthly re-orders and sales that your personally recruited and total downline sales volume.

There are a total of 5 unilevel levels that you can earn from and are offered within the companies unilevel pay plan structure that is offered.

Also, depending on the rank that you qualify for will depend on the percentage and the number of levels that you can earn from.

Here is a breakdown of what that looks like:

  • Elite Hac.er Rank – When you qualify at this rank, you will qualify to earn 3% on level 1 only.
  • Top Hac.er Rank – When you qualify at this rank, you will qualify to earn 3% on levels 1 and 2 from your unilevel compensation plan.
  • Ambassador Rank – When you qualify at this rank, you will qualify to earn 4% on levels 1 and 2 and 2% on level 3 from your unilevel compensation plan.
  • Elite Ambassador Rank – When you qualify at this rank, you will qualify to earn 4% on levels 1 and 2, 3% on level 3, and 2% on level 4 from your unilevel compensation plan.
  • Top Ambassador and Higher Ranks – When you qualify for these higher ranks, you will qualify to earn 5% on levels 1 and 2, 4% on level 3, 3% on level 3, and 2% on level 5 from your unilevel compensation plan.

Generation Bonus Commissions

Maskcara also offers a Generation Bonus that spans beyond the 5 levels that you can earn from the residual unilevel compensation plan.

It works by the rank that you reach in the company (Influencer), and from the Influencer Ranked members that are found in any one of your unilevel legs.

When there are Influencer Ranked members that are found beyond the 5 levels that you are normally limited to in the residual plan, you will be able to earn beyond the 5 levels down to the level that the Influencer Ranked team members are found.

This is an extra bonus commission that you will be able to earn and it will be commissions earned on top of what you earn from the residuals.

When there is more than 1 Influencer found in any one leg, that is what is called generations.

If there are 3 Influencers in one leg, for example, that leg offers 3 generations of pay that you can earn.

If there is only 1 Influencer on any 1 leg and you qualify to earn from 2 generations, then you will be able to earn from the entire leg.

There is a total of 3 generations that you can earn from.

Here is a breakdown of what that looks like:

  • Influencer Rank – When you qualify for this rank, you will be able to earn a 3% Generation Bonus on 1 generation per any 1 of your unilevel legs.
  • Elite Influencer Rank – When you qualify for this rank, you will be able to earn a 3% Generation Bonus on up to 2 generations per any 1 of your unilevel legs.
  • Top Influencers and Executive Director Ranks – When you qualify for these ranks, you will be able to earn a 3% Generation Bonus on the first 2 generations and 4% on the 3rd generation per any 1 of your unilevel legs.

Enroller Bonus Commissions

The Enroller Bonus that the company offers is a bonus that is paid from all of your personally recruited members PV that is generated.

This bonus is only offered to Elite Ranked members and above.

Here is a breakdown of the extra commissions that you can earn from the Enroller Bonus:

  • Elite and Top Hac.er Ranks – When you qualify for these ranks, you will earn 5% of all of your personally enrolled PV.
  • Ambassador and Elite Ambassador Ranks – When you qualify for these ranks, you will earn 6% from all of your personally enrolled PV.
  • Top Ambassador and Higher Ranks – When you qualify for these ranks, you will earn 7% of all of your personally enrolled PV.

This bonus is applied to all of the PV that your personally recruited members generate including the retail sales and your personally recruited member’s own purchases.

Personal Leader Bonus

There wasn’t that much information found on what exactly the Personal Leader Bonus entails.

Here is what we know…

This bonus is based on or pays out on 2% of the group volume that all of the “leaders” produce.

This bonus is reserved for Influencer-ranked affiliate members and higher.

That is as much as we know at this time.

That is all the information there is on how the compensation plan works and how you can make money with the Maskcara opportunity.

Maskcara Q and A Section

In this section of the review, we are going to answer some of the questions that you may have when thinking about joining the Maskara opportunity.

Is Maskcara BBB Accredited?

Maskcara Better Business Bureau

No, it doesn’t appear that the Maskcara company is accredited or listed with the Better Business Bureau at this time.

However, I did find a “Maskcara Artist” listing that took me to a website with the same Maskcara log, but it appears to not be associated with the company itself.

Not having accreditation with the BBB does not make a company a scam in our opinion.

There have been many companies that we found that have been running for several years and are 100% legitimate that are not listed on the BBB website.

That is why we go by what the facts tell us and not by what any third-party review site said about any particular company we look at.

What Is The Cost To Join Maskcara?

The minimum cost to join the Maskcara opportunity is $199 for the Basic Artist Kit. There is an additional kit that you can purchase that is called the Pro Artist Kit which offers more items at a discount but the only difference between the 2 kits is the price point and the number of items you get.

I don’t see any additional benefit toward the compensation plan benefits you can receive that other MLM companies seem to apply with their kits or packs.

Is Maskcara A Scam or a Legitimate Opportunity?

Is Maskcara Beauty A Scam or Legit Opportunity

In my opinion, yes, Maskcara is a legitimate opportunity and not a scam, and here is why:

  • The company offers great products
  • The company offers good management
  • The company also offers a fair compensation plan

The company basically is structure and offers everything a legitimate MLM company needs in order to comply with what the MLM part of the law requires.
