Clixsense/ySense Review: Rebranded But Is It The Same?

Welcome to my Clixsense review. But now I see it is rebranded to ySense.

The first question to ask is if ySense going to offer the same things that Clixsense did?

The answer is yes, but with an updated “new look” interface like websites and apps.

Also, they say fewer glitches.

One of the questions that we want to take a look at before joining any program is to learn if something is a scam or not.

We wouldn’t want to join a program just to learn later on that it doesn’t pay out and we end up losing all of the time and money we invested into making it work.

Clixsense/ySense Review

We are going to take a look at what Clixsense/ySense is, how you can earn money with it if I’ve found any complaints about it, and if the program is a scam or not.

With that said, let’s dive down and get started with the review.

Clixsense/ySense Review – What Is It?

Clixsense/ySense is a “paid-to-click” (PTC) type of program where you will receive awards when you click on various advertisements that the system offers.

Clixsense Reviews

The program was established back in 2007 and has been a long and trusted service provider for its type of industry which we will go into more detail later in this review.

Many of the current PTC websites have followed suit in many of the aspects that Clixsense/ySense offers simply because Clixsense/ySense has put together a successful program that lasted the test of time and continues to grow.

Clixsense/ySense offers memberships from all over the world which is one of the reasons for its popularity, the majority of other PTC programs usually only offer memberships for US residents only.

One of the main things that you will want to know is if Clixsense/ySense is worth your time and energy and produce some results for you.

This is what we are going to take a look at throughout this review, and by the time you reach the end, you will know everything there is to know about the program to make a decision.

Although Clixsense/ySense is a very popular program it has its share in some issues throughout the years it has been in business that we will cover in a later section of this review.

With that said, let’s move on to the next section.

Clixsense/ySense Company Overview

In this section of the review, we are going to quickly cover the Clixsense/ySense company information.

Clixsense was started in 2007 by owner Jim Grago.

The company is based out of 210 Bates Retreat, Hampstead NC, 28443, US.

I couldn’t find an image or much information on the company owner so with that said, let’s move on to the next section.

How Do You Earn Money With Clixsense/ySense?

How To Earn With Clixsense

In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at how you can earn money with Clixsense/ySense.

We now know that Clixsense/ySense is a PTC program site.

What that means is that companies and businesses have the opportunity to increase their business exposure by providing traffic to their websites.

What all “paid-to-click” programs offer (at the start of the process) is the ability to host these companies and business ads on their website and have the members of the PTC programs view or watch the advertisements that the companies and businesses pay the PTC programs to host.

When the members watch or view the advertisements, the members are also paid commissions by the PTC program like Clixsense/ySense which makes it essentially a “win” for all parties involved.

Here is a quick breakdown:

  • Advertisers and companies buy advertising space on Clixsense/ySense.
  • Members watch or view these advertisements.
  • Members get rewarded in money (commissions).
  • Clixsense/ySense also gets a small percentage cut as well.

This is essentially how all PTC sites worked when they first got started but now they offer ways that you can earn money through a referral program as well.

Earn By Completing Surveys

In 2007, Clixsense offered the ability to earn money online by taking surveys through its PTC platform.

When you complete the surveys you can earn anywhere from $.33 to $1.25 per survey when completed.

Some of the Survey companies included are:

  • Speak Up
  • GlobalTestMarket
  • Top Research
  • Lab42 Surveys
  • LiveSample
  • GiveUsYour2Cents

Earn By Completing Offers

Clixsense/ySense offers the ability to earn money by completing offers.

The commissions are low but very easy to complete.

Some of the offers that you can complete may be similar to “tasks” but are categorized differently and offer different bonuses.

Here is a quick breakdown of some of the offers that you can complete to earn money with Clixsense/ySense:

  • Testing new services and websites
  • Watching videos
  • Signing up for websites

When you reach $50 worth of earnings you will qualify for a $5 bonus.

Some of the companies that provide these “offers” include companies like:

  • Persona.ly
  • Peanut Labs
  • AdGate
  • Coupons

Earn By Referring New Members To Clixsense/ySense

The “referral program” or in another context, “affiliate program” that Clixsense/ySense offers will reward you when you refer new members to the Clixsense/ySense program as well.

When you refer new members, Clixsense/ySense will reward you in commissions of the percentage of what your referrals make and spend on the Clixsense/ySense platform.

  • When your referrals complete surveys, offers, tasks you will earn 20% from the earnings they received.
  • When you refer new members into Clixsense/ySense you will earn $.10 to $.30 depending on the country they joined from.
  • When your new referrals earn $5, you will earn a $2 bonus.

Earn Money by Completing Tasks With Clixsense/ySense

How To Earn Money With Clixsense

Clixsense/ySense also offers money by completing tasks that they offer.

Companies, businesses, and research programs usually will pay a small fee to Clixsense/ySense to host these tasks that the members can participate in to earn money for completing the task offered.

These are usually very small paying jobs, “tasks”, that consist of things like transcribing a grocery receipt or clicking and FB liking a page or something small like those examples.

These “tasks” usually pay only a couple of pennies worth of commissions after the task is completed.

How Do You Withdraw Your Money From Clixsense/ySense? (and the minimum balance requirement)

Clixsense/ySense offers a few solutions that you can choose to receive your commissions to pay you.

Since the opportunity is global, they offer a few global solutions.

Here is a breakdown of the various options that Clixsense/ySense will pay you:

  • Check (US-based members only)You will need a minimum balance of $10 – ($1 first-time fee then free to use option)
  • Dwolla (soon to be replaced) – You will need a minimum balance of $10 – (1% fee per transaction to use option)
  • Payoneer – You will need a minimum balance of $20 – ($2 fee per transaction to use option)
  • Skrill – You will need a minimum balance of $10 – (free to use option)
  • Tango Card – You will need a minimum balance of $10 – (free to use option)

As you can see there is a minimum balance that you must reach in your Clixsense/ySense account before you can take out your earnings and also some of the payment processors have a fee per transaction when uses excluding the Tango Card, and Skrill option.

Some Things I Liked About Clixsense/ySense – Pros

In this section of the review, I am going to cover some of the things that I liked about the Clixsense/ySense opportunity.

  • The opportunity to make money online.
  • The opportunity to join for free to earn money online.
  • Various offers to earn money with that Clixsense/ySense provides
  • Various ways to receive your commissions.
  • They offer a Clixsense/ySense app that makes it possible to complete offers on the go.
  • A low minimum balance withdrawal limit

Some Things That I Didn’t Like About Clixsense/ySense – Cons

In this section of the review, I am going to cover some of the things that I didn’t really like about the Clixsense/ySense opportunity.

  • The pay is very low. The commissions that you can earn range from .001 to $1 on average which will take forever to make enough to buy a happy meal.
  • You can’t leave the browser that you are completing the task on. If you do, you lose out on those commissions because they won’t be counted.
  • The affiliate program is ok, but still doesn’t pay out much either, the number of tasks and offers that your referrals would need to do would take an army of referrals to earn you a decent amount.

Some Past Issues With Clixsense/ySense

These issues include some hacks to the Clixsense/ySense system that happened years ago, but I feel it should be noted to give a good history to the program.

Hacked – Sep. 4th 2016

This hack happened back in 2016 where some hackers were able to gain access to the Clixsense/ySense database.

The issue that members were having was when they tried to log in to the platform and when clicking on the login button, they would get redirected to a porn site.

The owner, Jim Grago explained that this happened right before the labor day weekend which they were not able to get back control until Monday which left members lost.

Hack Update – Sep. 11th 2016

The hackers were able to get access to over 70,000 of the Clixsense/ySense member’s details which they actually published for sale on a site called Pastebin for everyone to see.

This could have potentially had sensitive user data but that information was not verified.

The owner and the programmers for Clixsense/ySense to back control the database and instructed all users to change their passwords due to the hack.

Current Update

Since that time it looks like Clixsense took action to take the steps necessary to not let this happen again because no issues have been reported since that time.

Are Their Complaints About Clixsense/ySense?

Clixsense Reviews and Ratings

Overall, there are not many complaints or negative reviews that I was able to find about the Clixsense platform.

For the most part, the complaints seem to be mixed reviews.

The majority of the complaints and negative reviews seem to be because of the past hacking issues that Clixsense faced which are still available to find online, and a few complaints about the low amount of commissions that they received which is not really a complaint in my opinion since the company site does have everything listed, which the commissions that you can earn are not very high at all.

Here is an image was taken that shows some of the mixed complaints and also some positive reviews.

Clixsense Testimonials and Reviews

That is all I have for some of the complaints I’ve found on the Clixsense platform, let’s move on to the next section.

Clixsense/ySense FAQ

In this section of the review, I am going to cover some of the questions that you may have if you are thinking about joining Clixsense/ySense and answering them.

Is Clixsense/ySense BBB Accredited?

No, Clixsense is not accredited on the Better Business Bureau website.

However, I was able to find a listing on the BBB for Clixsense that offered this information:

  • There is a rating of an A-
  • They do have some complaints that stem mostly from account removal but 1 was about not getting paid the amount that was earned.

Other than that there was no further information that the BBB provided other than what I already shared in my review about the Clixsense PTC program.

For the information I found on the BBB you can click here.

Is There A Clixsense/ySense App?

Yes, Clixsense/ySense does offer a mobile app that you can install on your smartphone and complete many of the tasks and surveys from anywhere you go.

The mobile app is compatible with your iPhone, Google, and Android smart mobile phone.

The app is still in development last I checked so it might be a bit buggy at times.

Clixsense App

I wouldn’t mind just trying it out to see how it goes because apps are consistently being updated and so it might work fine for you at the time you see this review.

It is laid out in the tasks that you wish to perform almost like the desktop version but with different navigation.

Just simply select the taste that you wish to complete on your mobile app, then get to work.

The Clixsense/ySense app is a great addition that makes it possible for you to earn on the go.

Is Clixsense/ySense a Scam?

Is Clixsense A Scam

In my opinion, and after looking over all of the information, Clixsense/ySense is not a scam.

I can see why some people may get upset after learning that they don’t pay out that well in commissions, but those are the new people that we’re expecting too much from a PTC program.

All PTC programs pay very low in the commissions you can earn from the various tasks and offers they provide.

This is not “out of the norm”

My Final Clixsense/ySense Review and Thoughts

In this final section of the review, I am going to share my final thoughts about the Clixsense/ySense PTC opportunity.

First of all, I just want to say again that Clixsense/ySense is not a scam PTC site.

The owner has been running the program for several years now and has been paying out its affiliate members from all over the world to places like India, Canada, UK, and the US.

They’ve had some issues throughout the years, but the company seemed to value the program to fix the issues that they have run across and move forward.

One of the newest additions is the mobile app additions which are a nice add-on.

On the other hand…
