Welcome to my Agnes and Dora Review.
With any company that you have the opportunity to earn money with we need to find out if it is a scam or not if we are thinking about joining and promoting it.
This is one of the questions that we are going to address and answer in this review.
We are going to take a look at the information on the company, the products, and the compensation plan to help us make that conclusion about the Agnes and Dora opportunity.
We are not simply going to base our opinion on whether we like the opportunity, but more on the guidelines that the FTC gives us.
With that said, let’s get started and dig into our Agnes and Dora unbiased review.
UPDATE: Did Agnes And Dora Shut Down?
It looks like Agnes and Dora shut down, their company website redirects to a Shopify store now.
I found some news that on March 23, 2020, the Brand Stylist Program is closing along with everything else. This was an email that was sent out by Buffy the owner.
I think you can still find some of their clothes online in various places, but as far as the opportunity, it looks like they were shut down.
If you have any additional information about the shutdown, please leave your comments below in the comment section.
Agnes and Dora Review – What Is It?
In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at what the Agnes and Dora company is, and provide information about the company and who runs it.
What Is Agnes and Dora?
Agnes and Dora is an MLM company that is in the women’s clothing line niche.
The company offers the ability to earn money when becoming a rep and selling the products and by also referring new members and building a team.
Agnes and Dora’s mission statement is to empower women with unique and quality clothing for the professional and personal, and from the romantic to the adventurous.
The company was designed for overall women empowerment for the clothing they wear and for the extra money they can earn by participating in the opportunity they offer.
Oh, and yes, men can also participate in this opportunity as well.
When looking at any opportunity that you can make money with it is nice to see some transparency with the company owner.
When there is no transparency it makes you wonder why is the owner not revealing any information about themselves?
Either way, Agnes and Dora are transparent in all the aspects we look forward to seeing in an MLM company.
Here is a quick company breakdown:
- The founder of the company is CEO Buffy Bandley.
- The company is based out of Provo, Utah.
- The company was launched back in 2013 out of her home garage is where it all started.
- The company is registered under an LLC (Agnes & Dora, LLC)
Buffy contributed to a few of the family businesses and comes from a long line of entrepreneurs.
She wanted to start a line of fashion to help empower women by providing some stylish clothing and also providing an opportunity for women to earn money from home.
The name “Agnes and Dora” was actually the name of her grandmother’s book that she wrote back in the 1960s named “The Secret Power of Femininity” by Maurine Startup.
The book explained how there are 2 sides of a woman which are the fun-loving spirited playful side (Dora), and the confident side (Agnes).
It was a book that was written to help with helping to have a long-lasting relationship by understanding yourself better.
Basically, as one would say, the “Ying and Yang”, or the “balance” of 2 different forces.
With that said, let’s continue.

Here is the sizing chart for those that requested it:
Total Life Changes Compensation Plan Breakdown
In this section of the review, we are going to take a look at the Agnes and Dora Compensation Plan and how you make money with it.
The Agnes and Dora opportunity doesn’t offer your traditional MLM compensation plan that typically offers a ton of ways to make money like overrides, matching bonuses, and pool commissions that are offered in MLM.
It is very diluted down into earning credits that you can use for your own product purchases and from a 3 level unilevel that you can earn residual income with including another bonus.
That is pretty much it…
The company is designed in more of the traditional MLM marketing style that pushes you to do home parties and show off the product to gain customers and reps for your business.
The company offers a simple to follow 4 step getting started guide that breaks down like this:
The company wants you to join to become a “Boutique Owner” by selecting the starter collection that best fits your budget.
Share the products that you get in your starter collection with friends and family by sharing through home parties, social media, and live events.
The products that you sell for the retail cost will earn you 50% of the sale.
Choose the sizes, the color, and the quantities that your customer wants.
Compensation Plan Overview
You will have the opportunity to earn from the unilevel MLM compensation plan.
When you want to become a rep for the company, you will have to find a rep to join even if you are trying to join from the company website.
There is an initial fee that you will need to pay and then it is recommended to purchase one of the 2 clothing package kits.
After you pay the initial cost to get started of $49 plus the kit you choose you will be required to purchase $500 per month in products or “inventory” to stay “fully” qualified to earn your customer credits and from the compensation plan that the company offers.
**To keep your “active” position in the compensation plan and not lose any credits or commissions, the minimum cost will be a $100 inventory purchase per month.
Residual Income (unilevel)
This is the section of the compensation plan that makes Agnes and Dora an MLM company.
They offer multiple levels of commissions that you can earn commissions using an MLM unilevel compensation plan structure.
For those that are unfamiliar with how the unilevel pay plan works here is a quick breakdown:
- 1st Level – The first level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have your personally referred members on this level.
- 2nd Level – The second level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have team members that your level 1 members personally sponsored on it.
- 3rd Level – The third level of your unilevel compensation plan will only have team members that your level 2 members personally sponsored on it.
- and so on…
Agnes and Dora offer 3 levels of unilevel commissions that you can earn from.
- Level 1 – This level of your unilevel compensation plan pays out 5%.
- Level 2 – This level of your unilevel compensation plan pays out 2%.
- Level 3 – This level of your unilevel compensation plan pays out 5%.
These earning are earned from your team’s wholesale purchases that they make with the company.
These commissions are paid out each month as long as you stay on as an active rep for the company.
Agnes and Dora Compensation Plan Video Overview
I’ve included this video that was created by one of the reps for the company that will give you a good overview of how the compensation plan works.
It will include some of the requirements that you will need to reach in order to receive some benefits and bonuses the pay plan offers as well.
Agnes and Dora VS LuLaRoe – Which Is Better?
There have been a lot of comparisons to the Lularoe opportunity and the Agnes and Dora company.
Some of the things that I have heard that Agnes and Dora offer, when compared to Lularoe, are:
- Agnes and Dora offer a better assortment of clothes.
- Able to provide your customers with a better selection of styles, colors, and sizes.
- More selection of the popular items that customers are looking for when compared to Lularoe.
- A&D offers more inventory.
- When you place orders and are in your checkout, the items will stay in your cart for 2 hours.
This is not a bash on Lularoe, we are just offering the content that was found on a variety of sources that pointed out similar points and opinions.
What Are Some Agnes and Dora Complaints?
When taking a look at various sources online to check on some of the Agnes and Dora complaints, I wasn’t able to find many.
There are a few on the Better Business Bureau, but there were more positive reviews than complaints that I was able to find anywhere.
Some of the complaints that I was able to find include:
- Poor quality fabric (no proof pics were found)
- And other rep related issues that didn’t seem that harsh or out of the ordinary.
- Complaints about losing credit after they failed to pay their monthly affiliate requirements. (this is explained in the terms)
You have to remember, I’ve seen and reviewed many MLM companies that were both good and bad, and from the complaints or concerns that I was able to find is not out of the ordinary for a company in the MLM space that has been around for as long as Agnes and Dora has.
As a matter of fact, the number of complaints when compared to other MLM company’s complaints is very small in comparison.
Many of the complaints about losing credit or commissions have to do with failing to stay commission qualified with the company which is in the terms and conditions.
Most of the complaints are simply misunderstandings or not understanding the requirements you need to have in order to be an active Agnes and Dora rep that I can see.
As far as the poor quality of clothing, I am not seeing any widespread complaints about this and could possibly come from reps that quit the company and took it upon themselves to start drama?
Not sure, but that is what it looks like to me…
You can read more about additional complaints that I’ve found in the BBB section that I’ve included below.

Our Agnes and Dora Q&A Section
In this section of the review, we are going to answer some of the questions people may have when thinking about joining the Total Life Changes opportunity.
Agnes and Dora Accredited With The BBB?
Yes, Agnes and Dora is accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
For a full listing on their website, you can check it out here.
Here is a breakdown of what the BBB has listed for the Agnes and Dora company:
- Agnes and Dora have an A+ rating with 3 out of 5 stars.
- Accredited since 10-19-2016
- In business for 5 years.
- 4 complaints with a total of 7 reviews.
I don’t ever really go by what the BBB tells me the accreditation or rating is simply because the BBB has been known to have manipulated ratings and reviews that 3rd party service companies do.
However, I do like to refer to the BBB for additional company information and to compare the reviews and testimonials on the BBB with my other resources when they have it available.
You can find the full BBB accreditation and report here.
What’s The Agnes and Dora Cost To Join?
To get started as an Agnes and Dora rep you will need to pay $49 for the enrollment fee which includes a getting started kit and gain access to the party website that offers all the clothes.
The second step is to purchase one of the clothing packages that will include a wide variety of clothes that you can start selling to earn money with.
The 2 “getting started package kits” are:
- The Gold Kit – $3500
- The Platinum Kit – $5,000
Half of either kit will include leggings and jeggings, and the rest of the kit will be an assortment of clothes that include items like cardigans and tops from each of the categories I’ve included in the product section above.
Now, to keep any commissions or rep credits you earn you are required to purchase at least $100 per month in products or “inventory” each month.
To be “fully” qualified to earn from everything that the compensation plan offers you will need to purchase an inventory cost of at least $500 each month.
Is Agnes and Dora A Scam or Legit Opportunity?

- They offer retail products that are in demand and good quality.
- Great business model.
- Fair compensation plan.
Overall the Agnes & Dora opportunity is a legitimate one if you do decide to join.

My Final Agnes and Dora Review and Final Thoughts
In this final section of the review, I am going to finish by sharing my personal thoughts on the Agnes and Dora opportunity.
We have taken the time to look at the information on the company, the products, and the compensation plan.
We have also found that the company offers a legitimate MLM business model.
There are several aspects to the Agnes and Dora business that look good to us.
It really appears that it is a good company that will be around for a long while.
But here is the question…
Would we recommend the Agnes & Dora opportunity?
As far as being in compliance and being a legitimate MLM company to join, we would recommend it.
As far as one of the easier ways to make money building a business online, then no we would not recommend it.
This company will be very difficult for the new person to have success online.
You will need to learn a lot of aspects about how to generate a following through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest.
With that said, I feel that Pinterest would be a good platform to promote this type of business where you are promoting clothes simply because there are many other people doing the same on Pinterest.
If you are looking for a good alternative, then I suggest and recommend you click on one of the links on this page for my recommended program.
